Green Future is a sustainability-focused company that rents out trash and waste‑processing machines. As their operations scaled, they needed a centralized system to manage machines, monitor performance, track profitability, and visualize machine locations in real time.

We built a data‑driven platform that allows Green Future to seamlessly manage their entire machine fleet—from location tracking to financial insights.

Problem

  • No unified system to manage rented machines
  • Limited visibility into machine location and status
  • Manual tracking of maintenance, rentals, and profits
  • Difficulty analyzing performance across machine models and locations
  • Need for advanced filtering and clear data visualization

Solution

We designed and implemented a scalable, serverless architecture on AWS, focused on reliability, performance, and analytics.

The platform enables:

  • Centralized machine fleet management
  • Real‑time location tracking with map visualization
  • Maintenance and operational status monitoring
  • Profit and rental performance tracking per machine
  • Advanced filtering and analytics across machine data

Key Features

Machine Fleet Management

Track all rented machines in one system View machine status, location, and availability Group and filter machines by model, type, or usage

Rentals & Profit Tracking

  • Track rental activity per machine
  • Analyze profitability by machine, model, or location
  • Support data‑driven business decisions

Map Visualization

  • Interactive map showing machine locations
  • Location‑based filtering and insights
  • Faster operational awareness for field decisions

Advanced Filtering & Analytics

  • Filter by machine model, location, status, and performance
  • Aggregate and query large datasets efficiently
  • Clear visualizations for operational and financial data

Tech Stack

  • Serverless backend using AWS Lambda for scalable compute
  • S3 as the central data lake for machine and event data
  • AWS Glue for data cataloging and transformation
  • Amazon Athena for fast, SQL‑based analytics on large datasets
  • AWS Cognito for secure authentication and access control

Outcome

  • Centralized visibility across all rented machines
  • Improved maintenance planning and reduced downtime
  • Clear insights into rental performance and profitability
  • Faster decision‑making through advanced filtering and visualization

Impact

Green Future now operates with a modern, data‑driven machine management platform. Teams can track assets in real time, identify issues early, and understand which machines generate the most value—supporting both operational efficiency and sustainable growth.
